Keith and Kathy - Kalamazoo Wedding Photography - Henderson Castle, and Three Rivers' Immaculate Conception Church
In Three Rivers, Michigan, there is a small, lovely Catholic church. I was privileged enough to be there to witness the ceremony of Keith and Kathy. Congratulations!

In our consult, Kathy mentioned that she'd like a picture of Keith's face as she was coming down the aisle. That, and if I could get the back of her gown (because it's the lace-up kind which are lovely). This image happened rather naturally. The church was so decidedly intimate that everything was in range. My favorite are the guests photographing her entrance. Their guests were fabulous!

Bubbles!!! I love those images where the bubbles are in focus and the subject is not. This is my best outcome yet!

When they went back in to the church to sign the marriage license, I quickly snapped this image of her gown (designer, Maggie Sottero; style, "Grace Kelly"). The sun was hitting it so hard the lace seemed to stand in relief. I like it!

After the wedding the reception began at Kalamazoo's own Henderson Castle. Where - despite all the controversy of ownership and finances - there is beauty everywhere.

The statues are glorious!

For music, they had a live piano player play through the dinner hour and beyond.

And then, the magic hour.... we were thankfully able to sneak out for a bit, to tour the roof terrace just before dusk.

After the first requisite portrait before the tower....

They were able to relax and just be. It was the most beautiful part of the day. To take a moment to be a fairy tale Prince, celebrating your Princess, at last in the tower of a castle... that is a real, live dream come true! How lovely!

They, and the entire wedding party, were overnight guests of the castle... so don't be sad to see them come away... This was just the beginning of their time on the terrace!
But we must explore the upstairs! The stair landing has a wonderful stained glass window that shifts colors in the light.

I love this candid moment as Grandpa holds his grandson as they listen to the tour guide!
Inspiration everywhere!!!

My gracious thanks to the new Mr. and Mrs.! I'm so excited for them; and so grateful to have been invited to capture the day. This was my first, Old World, True Romance, Fairy Tale Wedding!
May you be forever blessed by the joy I witnessed in your love!
